The snow is gone in front of our house and the snow drops are up. In back, though, the snow is still a good foot or more: very little sun shines there, and we haven't had a rain to wash things away. This is a tough time for balcony (and other) gardeners. I seem to have coaxed an African violet into bloom again, which a plus, but I keep waiting for signs of aphids on my big hibiscus which usually develops them about this time of year. Yuck!
