		<description>Do hope you are beginning to see some signs of spring on the prairie.  The snow is gone in front of our house and the snow drops are up. In back, though, the snow is still a good foot or more: very little sun shines there, and we haven&#039;t had a rain to wash things away.

This is a tough time for balcony (and other) gardeners.  I seem to have coaxed an African violet into bloom again, which a plus, but I keep waiting for signs of aphids on my big hibiscus which usually develops them about this time of year. Yuck!
